Staff development for teaching and learning has a number of strands. There are regular staff development workshops as required. The Institute educational technologist runs workshops and clinics for staff on the Institute VLE Blackboard. On 4 September 2015 the dedicated staff development day for teaching and learning was well received.

The Institute has validated a number of special purpose awards and modules from the LIN Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning at Athlone Institute of Technology. These include:

  • Certificate in Learning and Teaching

In 2015-2016 there are 8 students on the Certificate in Learning and Teaching, and 6 students on the Certificate in Assessment and Evaluation.
